Calgi
Vice President - Marketing & Business Development
Robert
Calgi has over 20 years of convergent marketing, sales, product management
and business development experience in entertainment, telecommunications,
broadband, and information services. Mr. Calgi was Vice President of
Marketing & Development at Carolina BroadBand, responsible for marketing,
product development, business development, acquisitions and programming/
content. Before joining Carolina BroadBand, Mr. Calgi served as Vice
President of Marketing and Sales at Gemini Networks, an early stage
pre-IPO firm in the broadband "last mile" sector.
Previously,
Mr. Calgi was with Comcast Corporation in a number of key leadership
roles. At Comcast, he was Regional Director of Marketing, Sales &
New Business responsible for core and new business across 2 million
homes passed and 1 million customers in the western United States, encompassing
800,000 homes in Southern California, 650,000 homes in the Sacramento-CA
DMA, 250,000 homes in the Albuquerque-NM DMA, 125,000 homes in the Tucson-AZ
DMA and 100,000 homes in the Santa Barbara-CA DMA. Mr. Calgi conceived
the product strategy and directed the initial market launch for Comcast
Digital Cable, successfully integrated over 400,000 customers and the
local marketing teams from Jones Intercable into Comcast in 1999 and
created a winning TV channel concept called Sneak Peek-TV™ that was
subsequently launched throughout all Comcast markets at the time.
Prior to
Comcast, Mr. Calgi was Director of Market Development for NYNEX Business
Network Solutions, and served in key product, pricing and market management
roles at NYNEX Yellow Pages. Mr. Calgi graduated with a B.A. in Economics
from Trinity College and earned an MBA in Marketing from Pace University.
